WBC Champion Wonjongkam Wins, Awaits Result Of Edgar Sosa's Fight

Today, in Hatyai, Thailand, WBC Flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (Thailand) kept his world title, defeating the brave Japanese contender Takuya Kogawa. this friday, july 1st, in Hatyai, Thailand.

It was an explosive battle for 12 rounds, in which the experienced Pongsaklek did everything he needed to win the bout.

Takuya was faster, and had better technique at a distance, but the veteran champion worked better when counter-attacking, and took advantage of the mistakes of his rival, landing more demolishing left hooks.
 

There were no knockdowns in the bout.

The official scores were: Mr. Stephen Blea (USA)  118-110; Mr. Jae bon Kim (Korea) 116-112 and Mr. F. Marty, (Switzerland) 117-111, all in favor of Pongsaklek Wonjongkam. 
 
Pongsaklek is now awaiting the former WBC Light Flyweight champion, and current WBC International Flyweight champion Edgar Sosa, who fights this Saturday in Mexico.
